COMPANY POLICY

The continuous evolution of customer expectations and requirements, strongly reinforced by market competitiveness, demands flexible organisational models and lean management systems, whose effectiveness must be monitored in terms of expected results. For this reason, we have developed an Integrated System (Quality, Environment, Safety and Ethics – QASE) as a means to achieve the defined objectives.

The Integrated System is structured to ensure adequate control and assurance of all operational processes impacting the quality of the service and products provided, with an ever-stronger customer-oriented focus.

The scope of Ferrero S.p.A. is clearly defined in the design, construction and commercialisation of racks for automotive components, industrial welding, and trading, with operations both in-house and through external partnerships.

The fundamental principles of the Integrated System policy are:

  • Customer satisfaction
  • Attention to social and environmental aspects in compliance with legal requirements and company objectives
  • Health and safety of personnel
  • Efficiency in performance, both qualitative and in respect of safety, environment, ethics and social responsibility
  • Quality of supplies in accordance with the requirements of all stakeholders
  • Responsible procurement of raw materials necessary for the production of our products
  • Ongoing improvement, both qualitative and of the environmental, ethical and social system
  • Commitment to environmental protection and pollution prevention throughout the work phases and the entire product lifecycle (from design to disposal)
  • Compliance with the Code of Ethics

PRINCIPLES OF THE COMPANY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND SUSTAINABILITY

The general principle guiding the company safety management system is compliance with all applicable laws, both mandatory and voluntary.

This principle is reflected in the following safety management practices:

  • Establishing and maintaining an up-to-date safety management documentation system appropriate to the company context
  • Compliance with all relevant European, national and regional laws related to workplace health and safety, including injury and occupational disease prevention
  • Providing sufficient usable space (respecting ergonomics) for each worker, avoiding overcrowding
  • Encouraging collaboration among employees
  • Keeping employees constantly informed of developments and updates in safety regulations and ensuring their application within the company
  • Producing products that, in addition to fully complying with current legislation, are, as a precaution, of a higher standard than the minimum legal requirements and meet customer expectations
  • Continuously improving and periodically reviewing the management system to ensure it remains up to date

More specifically, the company aims to ensure that employees and those working on its behalf (suppliers, consultants, and collaborators) are aware of the importance of legal compliance, environmental protection, ethical and sustainable behaviour, and the health and safety of all involved. Thus, these principles form the basis of daily operations:

  • The correct use by all personnel of the personal protective equipment (PPE) defined for each task within the risk assessment document
  • Attention to ergonomics in the workplace, ensuring adequate spacing and layout
  • The conscious use by all personnel of the company machines and equipment in order to prevent any risk of injury caused by a different use than that reported in the use and maintenance manual of each individual work equipment
  • The conscious use and handling of the chemicals present in the company and knowledge of what is indicated in the relevant safety data sheets
  • Participation in a constructive and careful manner in the periodic evacuation and emergency (environmental and safety) drills carried out within the company to prevent dangerous situations and ensure readiness if required
  • Regular inspection of all fire-fighting stations and equipment (fire extinguishers, hydrants, etc.) to ensure operational efficiency
  • Collaboration of all personnel in managing any safety or environmental accident to minimise negative consequences and prevent a recurrence
  • Awareness and responsible use of all resources by personnel to improve company energy efficiency (reducing CO2 consumption), including the use of renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Particular attention is paid to avoiding water waste, unnecessary heating and cooling of work environments, and reducing the production of non-recoverable waste
  • Company partners also focus on monitoring air quality (primarily within work areas) and water, using renewable natural and energy resources where economically feasible, and limiting the use of hazardous chemicals, which are handled and managed responsibly in accordance with the safety data sheets for each product

The policy and methodology of the Integrated System are shared by all company personnel and have created strong synergies across the various business processes. The System aims to promote participation and consultation of all employees.
